Yes, the fee is AUD $195.

Does Medicare cover the cost?

Unfortunately, Medicare does not.

Does the CNSDose test represent value for money?

We believe it does. Other Pharmacogenetic tests offered in Australia priced under AU$200 do not offer the broad coverage of genes that CNSDose detects. The most popular Pharmacogenetic test in the USA, Genesight is sold for up to US$330 out-of-pocket plus insurance which all up may reach >US$1,500.

Who is your laboratory partner running the test?

Basepair Genomics, a NATA accredited lab and part of the Incite Health group, are the exclusive distributors and lab partner for CNSDose.

Genetic testing for CNSDose is performed at BasePair Genomics lab in Melbourne, Australia and our laboratory is accredited to the international standard ISO15189 by the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.

Can I pay securely by credit card or PayPal?

Yes.

What sample is required?

A simple cheek swab.

How long does the test take?

Results will be available 3 - 5 business days from sample receipt into our laboratory.

Will I receive the results?

No. All results will go to your nominated clinician when you order the test.

How will my doctor use the test results?

Your nominated clinician will review the test results in an effort to find the optimal medications and doses for you.

Can I access the test results online?

Yes, following your nominated clinician reviewing the test results and consulting with you, you have free unlimited online access to the results for up to 7 years giving you the ability to share the report with any future clinician you use.

Is the test suitable for other family members?

Yes.

Is there an age limit?

No. For anyone under the age of 18 years old, we require consent from a parent and/or guardian.
